The tools that existed were either built for large salons — $100+ a month with features nobody asked for — or they ran a marketplace that treated the barber's clients as the platform's clients.

I'm Girish. I'm not a barber — I'm a regular who's been sitting in the same chair every two weeks for years.
Every visit, I'd watch my barber do the same thing: check his phone between cuts, scroll through DMs, text clients back, scribble something in a notebook. One day I asked him how many people just don't show up. He said three or four a week — sometimes more. That's $200-$400 a month, gone.
I asked why he didn't use a booking app. He pulled out his phone and showed me what he'd tried. One charged over $100 a month. Another one put a “See other barbers near you” link right on his booking page — sending his own clients to competitors. He'd tried three platforms and quit all of them.
I'm a software engineer. I knew this wasn't a hard problem to solve — it was just that nobody was solving it for him. Everything on the market was built for 20-chair salons with enterprise budgets, or for platforms that make money by owning the customer relationship instead of the barber owning it.
So I built the first version of MeetVault for my barber. He used it that same week. Then his friend down the street wanted it. Then two more shops asked.
